Yoshitsune Last Episode

Aya Ueto filmed her last scene in NHK Taiga drama, Yoshitsune, at NHK studio in Shibuya, Tokyo on the 27th. With a contend smile, Aya Recived the bouquet presented by the staff.The fictitious character Aya Ueto plays, うつぼ (Utsubo), grows up with Yoshitsune and supports him.


Filming about a year (from last September), Aya doesn't feel the series is come to an end. She said, "I'm still feel the story will progressing, doen't feel it's near end. " And she also said, "If I have a chance to act in a historical drama, I would like to play the role of a villain."


Next week Aya Ueto will go gunma (群馬県) to shoot the an outdoor scene and the shooting of Yoshitsune series will finally end. The last episode of Yoshitsune series will air on Dec, 11 on NHK. (Check the time table on NHK if you can watch NHK)

Aya Attend National Census PR event

On Sep 25 in Tokyo, Aya Ueto attended the PR event of the "Heisei 17th National Census", which will be executed after Oct 1. Because of living with her family, Aya doesn't know very much about national census. But She will start to learn it. she said, "I think it is important to know Japan, where we live."


To the question "Do you write (The census) yourself by the living on your own ? " She said, "That would be great. However, My families help me to do it because I am a timid person." Then, She said with smile, "I want to try writing the questionnaire this time".

When asked if she wants to live on her own, she answered with hesitation, "Though I yearn to, it will be fearful to me if it comes true. And it's pleasant to live with failies. I can talk to my parents and chat with my elder brother."

Breath Sale Commemoration Event

Aya Ueto (20) held the sale commemoration event of her new photobook, Breath, at the ブックファースト(Book First) Shibuya branch in Shibuya, Tokyo on the 19th, and there're about 500 fans gathered.

Aya said she spent her birthday with her family and the staff. They recommended Aya to drink some sake becuase she is now 20, the age allowed to drink wine. Aya said, " I drank some red wine, white wine, and sake. I thought I might got drunk but nothing happened to me.

As Aya Ueto said she will get married when 20 before, the journalists asked if she had any plan to do so. Aya answered with smile, "There's no need to hurry but I am well-prepared for any opportunity to have a happy marriage.

Aya Ueto 20th Birthday And New Photobook !

New photobook of Aya Ueto, Breath , is out on Sep 14, the same day of her 20-year-old birthday.

The photobook, Breath, is published by Shueisha and the price will be 2730 yen including tax. All 112 pages of gravure picture are photographed at Guam island. The content includes both expressions of Aya, girl's and woman's. Besides, you can see Aya's extremely cute smile with the beautiful beach and the fresh green scenes of Guam. The 16-pages appendix included is about her real thoughts of work, friends, and love. This time Aya Ueto also has to diet for this photobook. She said, "Though there're ups and downs in the process, it has become a satisfied work."

Aya Ueto in TBS Special Drama

TBS 50th anniversary special drama entitled "namida sousou ~ kono ai ni ikite", starring Aya Ueto and Hitomi Kuroki, will be aired on Oct 9. Aya acts a pregnant and unmarried mother who decides to give birth to her child. And Hitomi Kuroki plays the role Aya's mother, who is also a single parent before. Aya Ueto, however, says, " It is actually impossible for me." It is her first time to playing this kind of role. She is surprised when she requests to act a mature woman with a child in her stomach.

Producer Yasuo Yagi says, "Aya Ueto is chosen beacuse she's the best among those young actresses." It is even said that the scenarist, Hisashi Hashida, wrote the story with the image of Aya Urto in mind.
